The ruins of Brederode Castle are located just a five-minute walk from Landgoed Duin & Kruidberg. This medieval castle was built in the late 13th century by Dirk van Brederode's son Willem and his wife Hillegonda van Voorne. It was occupied by the aristocratic "Huis Brederode" family for many years. The castle ruins now provide the perfect backdrop to various exhibitions, and a number of activities and events are held there between the months of February and September.
